In July 2006, I spent 2 days onboard the CVN-69 USS Dight D. Eisenhower during the Joint Task Force Exercise (JTFEX) 06-2, subtitled "Operation Bold Step".
JTFEX 06-2 served as the forward-certifying event for the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) Carrier Strike Group and testing the CSG’s ability to operate alongside other U.S. forces and coalition partners in a complex, hostile environment.
I would like to thank the 2nd Fleet PAO team as well as the PAO Officers onboard the „IKE“ for all the hard work they did in getting me out to the carrier and the great time on the ship.
